On Gorgonaeon by Jordan Krall

The walls of the labyrinth lead inward we hope (without knowing anything but the eternal twisting and wo[a]ndering.) When snakes move and come from all around, you don’t need to ask from where they crawled; you have seen the holes in your own head in the brackish muck of a thousand lost steps.

Bewildered so long on this Earth that the monsters all look like another damn human.
